FUTURE PLANS

Bill Sisley, the circuit owner, has advised the club that John Surtees has completed the purchase of the freehold land on which Buckmore Park Karting holds the lease and has also purchased an additional approx 90 acres of land at Buckmore Park. It is John's intention to now develop the site for both educational needs linked in with motor sport, and of course to develop the kart circuit further. In John's words, "I'd like to create an extension to the circuit for alternatives for learning, testing and road safety training. I have dreams, we'll just try and realise them". Bill adds that this is what we've been waiting for for the last 10 years.

SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP 2013

The eight round BPKC Summer Championship kicks off on Sunday 21st April. Please be sure to get your entry in as early as possible. Honda Cadet & Honda Cadet Clubman will consist of seven rounds due to the Honda Cadet ‘0’ Plate meeting being held on 20th October, with six rounds to count.

The majority of race entries are now made online — use the following web address: http://www.buckmoreparkkartclub.co.uk/content.php/20020 or follow the link to BPKC, Practice/Race dates, click on the race date and ‘Book Now Online’ at the bottom of the page.

PIT BAYS

Competitors wishing to reserve pit bays for the 2013 Summer Championship should contact Sheila Rose as soon as possible on 01634 661604 or email sheila@buckmore.co.uk . Teams that reserved bays for the Winter Series have the first option and should advise the club by the 31st March if they wish to re-book. After this date the bays will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. A plan of the paddock pit bay area can be downloaded from our website.

The cost for the whole Summer Series will be £120 per bay for Row 1 and £90 per bay for Rows 2 — 6. The bays are allocated for the weekend.

Please check on the Pit Bay sheet displayed on the Notice Board prior to parking up for race meetings. Your co-operation would be much appreciated. You will be asked to move if you have parked in these areas.

Also, we would like to remind you that NO PRIVATE CARS should be parked in the paddock.

SIGNING ON

Would you please note that it is now a requirement of the MSA that countersignatories of drivers under the age of 18 must either be the PG Licence holder for that driver (the licence must be presented) or a letter of authority from the PG licence holder must be produced, stating the name of the person who will be looking after the driver. The PG licence holder will still be responsible for the countersignatory. However, the PG licence for that driver must be given to the person that has the letter of authority, and it must be presented at signing on.

Please make sure that you sign on in time. If you have not signed on by 9.15am, and there are any reserves waiting, they may have been allowed to sign on in your place!

TRANSPONDERS

Please ensure that your transponder is fixed to your kart before the 3 lap practice on race days. These are all checked during practice, and it is not helpful if it is still on charge, or in your van! If you do not have your transponder fitted during timed qualifying, you will be starting your heat at the back of the grid!

Please note that Red TranX AMB 260 transponders are not permitted!

GRID PASSES

Please ensure that your Grid Pass is on show, as you may not be allowed on either the dummy grid or parce ferme without it.

MY LAPS

Please note that results from all club race meetings held at Buckmore Park can be accessed at www.mylaps.com You will need to register with details of your personal transponder.

TIMING

The club is currently in negotiation with regard to updating the timing systems we use. Within the next few months, we should be able to offer a complete new system which will include Live timing.

EMAIL

It would help if we had email addresses for everyone so that we can contact you faster. We do not pass on any data to third parties. If you have not already given us your current email address, please send it to alan@buckmore.co.uk quoting your membership number.

50TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING

The Summer Championship Club Meeting on 20th October coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the Circuit and we are looking for sponsors for this event which will feature special prizes. Please ring Chris Pullman on 01634 661620 for more details.

The Phil Whorlow Memorial Shield will be awarded to the winner of the Rotax class at the Anniversary meeting.

CHAMPIONSHIPS AND CHALLENGES

The Club will host the following national championships and challenges during the rest of 2013:

KENT KART CHAMPIONSHIP

Following the success of the inaugural year of this regional Championship, which was set up to reduce the cost of travelling for those drivers/teams on budgets, the Championship will be run again this year within the Club Championships and a simple scoring system used. The Junior Subaru class will be run at these meetings. If anyone is interested in sponsoring, please contact Chris Pullman (Buckmore Park) or Ian Ward (Bayford Meadows).

PRACTICE DAYS

Open Practice is now available between 10am and 4pm on the FRIDAY and SATURDAY
preceding each race meeting. If possible, please complete your form before arriving at the gate — it saves a lot of time!

We have added two extra Owner/Driver practice days on Tuesday 6th August and Thursday 22nd August.

CLUBHOUSE SUITE HIRE

The first floor suites of the clubhouse are available for exclusive hire to club members during open practice and race days. Special prices are available for Club members.
