Towards the MSA Kart Racing Licence
The ARKS Test
The ARKS test is intended for drivers with some previous karting experience who wish to apply for their MSA kart racing competition licence to enable them to compete in Owner/Driver MSA race meetings. The test comprises both a theory and a practical test and takes around four hours. You will need to purchase an ARKS pack and complete the enclosed application and undertake any necessary medical before the date of the test (drivers under 18 do not need a medical). Places must be booked in advance.

You will need to purchase the MSA Starting Karting ARKS pack in order to take your ARKS test. The pack contains everything you will need to know for the test and contains a licence application form as well as a lot of useful information to get you started. The pack costs £45 and is available from the circuit or via our secure online shop.

Before drivers can progress into MSA competitions, they must obtain an MSA licence by taking the ARKS test at an approved school. Lasting for approximately four hours, the test consists of both a written multiple-choice examination and a practical driving test. It covers all aspects of the sport, emphasising safety and good driving technique.
